Small Electrical Renovation Projects: Always Check for Demolition Drawings

When working on smaller electrical renovation projects up to $10,000.00, please be mindful to always check for demolition drawings or layouts. Just because your “electrical engineered set” of drawings does not contain a demo plan or layout, does not mean there is no electrical demolition and relocation scope of work involved with the project you are tasked with.

In some instances, demolition plans for smaller electrical renovation projects can be found within the architectural or interior design (ID) sets of the project. If you or your estimator missed pricing the demolition plan because it was not found in your electrical set, you will typically loose money on the material and labour that would have been allotted for this scope of work. Overall, you must read and review all drawing sets provided for the project, in order to ensure that all important electrical information has been included in the pricing of your estimate.

Construction professionals, please remember to be cautious and always check for demolition drawings, as this scope of work has an added cost to any project you are working with.
